Mineral Wells & Palo Pinto, Texas
As I was driving into Mineral Wells on Highway 180, it was not too difficult finding the Baker Hotel as it rises far above the other buildings. Built in 1929 this hotel must have been a grand sight to behold in its day. The hotel closed in 1972, but what a fascinating structure it is and a real treat to photograph. Driving west I came upon the town of Palo Pinto, which is the county seat. I found an old telephone booth and a couple of interesting store front buildings that are vacant.
